Document upload checklist

Pick your loan type and business structure. Get the files an online lender is likely to ask for, then tick them off as you gather them — so the upload step takes one sitting.

Typical requirements only. Your specialist confirms exactly what the chosen lender needs.

    Why use a document checklist?

In an online application, the upload step is where time disappears. Not because uploading is hard, but because people send documents in dribs and drabs: a statement today, a report tomorrow, a missing month next week. Each gap triggers another request. Gathering the right files in one sitting, in the right format, turns a week of back-and-forth into an afternoon.

    Which formats work best?

Use original PDFs exported straight from the source: internet banking for statements, myIR for tax summaries, Xero or MYOB for financial reports. Do not edit, crop or merge them — lenders run authenticity checks. Photo ID is usually captured inside the verification app rather than uploaded. If your bank supports open banking, you may be able to connect instead of uploading statements; see bank link versus statement upload.

How should you send the files?

Only through the secure portal link your specialist sends after the first call. Never email statements or ID to an address you have not verified, and never share passwords. Our guide to uploading documents securely explains what a genuine portal looks like. For the bigger picture of how ready you are, try the online-ready score.

    Checklist questions

Do I need every document on the checklist before I enquire?

No. The enquiry needs none of them. The checklist shows what an online lender is likely to ask for later, so you can gather it in one sitting.

Why does the list change by loan type?

Each product relies on different evidence. Invoice finance leans on aged receivables; property-secured lending needs title and mortgage details; unsecured lending leans on bank data.

    Is my progress saved?

No. The checklist runs in your browser only and is not stored or sent anywhere. Print it or tick it off in one go.

How should I send the documents?

Only through the secure portal link your specialist sends after your first call — never by plain email.

The enquiry takes about a minute on any device. Nothing touches your credit file at this stage, your details stay with one team, and a person — not a bot — calls you back.
